Buying assets versus making them yourself
Of course, commissioning custom artwork is great and a good way to get exactly what you want but even so it's difficult to explain exactly what you want. Indeed, learning to describe exactly what you need in a way that someone else will understand is a skill I vastly underestimated at the start of the journey. With the uploaded picture here I decided since one of the sprites I had gotten for a background NPC was already bearing a more than passing resemblance to yours truly I modified him somewhat so we can have a director's cameo. I guess I'm holding a graphing calculator there. Because I love math so much. So, it's of cpurse you have a better eye for the weird details you like to see in something but also I'm not nearly as good at as the guy handling Chrissy, the main character. See for yourself!!
